BenQ & Viewsonic Unleash Brand New 32″ Gaming Monitors With DisplayPort 2.1, 4K & Up To 240Hz Refresh Rate

Display manufacturers such as Viewsonic & BenQ have rolled out their latest gaming monitors featuring DisplayPort 2.1 & up to 4K resolution.
The DisplayPort 2.1 standard is something that only high-end gamers have had access to but it's soon expected to go mainstream as more display manufacturers enter the market. AMD already offers support for DisplayPort 2.1 and so do Intel's Core Ultra CPUs NVIDIA is also expected to roll out DisplayPort 2.1 support with its next-gen GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards & we will see a wider adoption for the new standard.
In light of that, monitor vendors have started to integrate the port type in their newest offerings, and after the likes of Gigabyte and ASUS, BenQ and other vendors have joined the list as well.
Starting with BenQ, the company has showcased its next-generation MOBIUZ monitors, unveiling the EX321UX. This is a high-end gaming monitor released by BenQ after a long wait, considering that the firm was previously involved in releasing hardcore gaming monitors, usually equipped with TN panels. This time, the new MOBIUZ EX321UX features a 4K mini-LED panel with 1,152 local dimming zones and 1000 nits of brightness. The monitor comes with a 144 Hz refresh rate along with 99% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, and in short, the EX321UX does pack a punch.
But that's just not it. The monitor is one of the first ones from BenQ to feature a DisplayPort 2.1 port , and it's certainly a move to capitalize on the upcoming demand that will be brought by next-generation hardware.
Apart from BenQ, companies like Xiaomi, with its Redmi G Pro, and Viewsonic, with its XG323 gaming monitor, have also introduced the DisplayPort 2.1 standard, showing that the port's significance is indeed increasing. The Viewsonic XG323-4K features the full 80 Gbps raw bandwidth of the DP2.1 standard and comes with dual-switch mode, switching between 4K 240Hz and FHD 480Hz modes. The monitor comes with 1300 nits of brightness with its MLA+OLED panel and has a response time of 0.03ms (GTG). It also features a 140W USB Type-C PD port.
Up until now, it looks like Gigabyte is in the lead when it comes to DP 2.1 inclusion since the firm has already pushed out the AORUS FO32U2P, which features the industry's first UHBR20 DisplayPort 2.1, the maximum bandwidth capacity present in the port type. While others are late to the party, DP 2.1 is expected to go mainstream in the future, likely being a necessary inclusion for future product releases.
