ASUS W790 Motherboards For Sapphire Rapids Workstation Listed For Pre-Orders, £1279 For SAGE & £899 For ACE

ASUS's W790 motherboards designed for Intel's Sapphire Rapids Workstation CPUs have been listed online for pre-order.
Intel's Sapphire Rapids Xeon Workstation CPUs launch this week for retail and the first boards are already up for grabs. UK-based retailer, SCAN, has listed both the Pro WS W790-ACE & the Pro WS W790-SAGE offerings which are listed for £899 and £1279, respectively. Both motherboards being some of the high-end options that you can get for the upcoming workstation / HEDT family offer an insane list of features.
Meanwhile, you can also find a few W790 motherboards listed over at Newegg such as:
The ASUS Pro WS W790E-SAGE SE is obviously more expensive considering that it offers a lot more in terms of features and I/O than the ACE. We are looking at a 16 Phase power delivery, 7 PCIe Gen 5.0 x16 slots, triple M.2 slots, triple LAN ports (2 10GbE + 1 BMC), 8 SATA III ports including two Slim SAS ports, and an endless amount of USB ports in an EEB form factor. The ACE keeps things simple with its E-ATX form factor and still powerful 14 VRM phases that feature overclocking support, 5 PCI Express 5.0 x16 slots, up to 2 TB RDIMM DDR5 support, and an insane amount of I/O.
In addition to the ASUS W790 offerings, Supermicro's W790 motherboards for the Intel Xeon Work-Station "Sapphire Rapids" CPUs have also been listed by Japanese retailer, oliospec. The X13SRA-TF retails for 149,930 Yen or $1100 US (tax included) while the top X13SWA-TF retails for 189,000 Yen or around $1380 US (tax included). Both of these motherboards are top-notch and loaded with lots of connectivity and I/O options. The prices in the US for these boards will definitely be lower versus the ASUS options which carry a premium.
The Intel Xeon W-3400 & Xeon W-2400 Sapphire Rapids Workstation CPUs are now available for pre-order and OEM systems will be available in early March. Users will be able to purchase the CPUs (boxed) and the W790 motherboards separately.
