ASUS has unveiled a low-profile variant of the GeForce RTX 3050 with a stripped-down 6 GB VRAM, making it perfect for compact builds.

The firm has decided to release a smaller variant of the newly-released GeForce RTX 3050 6GB under its BRK lineup. The new RTX 3050 model is an excellent fit for gamers who want to experience the RTX capabilities, intended to give consumers using the GeForce GTX 1050 and the GTX 1650 a perfect generational upgrade. Regarding the specifications, the ASUS BRK GeForce RTX 3050 comes with a 70W TDP, along with certain cut-downs made within the clock speeds and the onboard cores, putting it in an entry-to-mid-level GPU, depending upon how you intend to use it.

The main features include:

  • NVIDIA Ampere Streaming Multiprocessors: The all-new Ampere SM brings 2X the FP32 throughput and improved power efficiency.
  • 2nd Generation RT Cores: Experience 2X the throughput of 1st gen RT Cores, plus concurrent RT and shading for a whole new level of ray-tracing performance.
  • 3rd Generation Tensor Cores: Get up to 2X the throughput with structural sparsity and advanced AI algorithms such as DLSS. These cores deliver a massive boost in-game performance and all-new AI capabilities.
  • IP5X dust resistance offers protection from particle ingress for better durability.
  • Dual ball fan bearings can last up to twice as long as sleeve bearing designs.
  • A 2-slot design maximizes compatibility and cooling efficiency for superior performance in small chassis.
  • Auto-Extreme technology uses automation to enhance reliability.
  • GPU Tweak III provides intuitive performance tweaking, thermal controls, and system monitoring.
  • In terms of the ASUS's model itself, it comes with a compact dual fan design, with nothing extraordinary, which is simply what you would expect with a low-profile model. It has three display connectivity options: DisplayPort 1.4a, HDMI 2.1, and a DVI-D port. This particular variant is indeed suitable for consumers opting for a low-power option with decent GPU performance or for those looking for a compact GPU option, either for mini-ITX builds or in general. However, it is essential to note that with the "size reduction," you will also get a performance tradeoff because it's a low-profile model after all.

ASUS hasn't revealed the pricing of the new BRK models, but they would debut somewhere under the ASUS Dual counterparts, which retail at around $180. It is important to note that ASUS will release two different GeForce RTX 3050 6GB BRK variants, with the OC model featuring a higher default boost clock out of the box.
