ASUS has unveiled new Z790 motherboard and GPU variants under its "Back To Future" series, featuring the NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti SUPER.

For those unaware, ASUS's BTF (Back to Future) lineup aims to integrate innovation elements into multiple hardware products. The series was initially revealed at CES 2024, and the primary focus this time was on "hiding" the connectors through back-plug and new proprietary connections to make PC builds through efficient cable management. The new entrants in the BTF lineup are more white-dominant since ASUS has previously released black BTF variants under the ROG label.

Starting with the motherboard, the ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-BTF WIFI comes with the LGA 1700 socket, supporting Intel's 14th and 13th Gen processors. Regarding VRM features, the motherboard has 16 + 1 + 1 60A DrMOS power stages covered in large white and silver VRM heatsinks with aluminum brushing to provide the best look. The Z790-BTF WIFI supports a PCIe 5.0 x 16 interface and a 1x PCIe 4.0 x 16 expansion slot. For memory and storage options, you have 4 x DIMM slots with support for DDR5-7200, 4x M.2 slots, and 4 x SATA 6Gb/s ports, which is ample in terms of modern-day requirements.

In terms of the onboard connectivity, the motherboard features WiFi-7 and Bluetooth 5.4 support. For USB ports, you have 1x USB Type-C (20 Gbps), 2x USB Type-A, 1x USB Type-C (10 Gbps), and 4x USB Type-A (5 Gbps). Hence, the connectivity department is packed with everything.

Now, moving on to the more exciting bits, the TUF GAMING Z790-BTF WIFI is distinguished by its onboard connector placement, as all power connectors, such as the 8-pin ATX and the 24-pin motherboard, are situated at the back. Through this approach, no cables would be visible in the front, which does provide a tidy and professional look.

Moreover, the motherboard comes with a GC-HPWR slot for GPUs, which we have described in detail on our visit to last year's Computex. Still, in simple terms, it is a new standard that can output around 600W of power without needing a dedicated power connector like 12VHPWR. It eradicates problems that come with such connectors, doesn't require wiring from your power supply, and can even deliver seamless power without a problem, which is why the GC-HPWR is an excellent choice for those who want to stand out from others.

Apart from the motherboard, ASUS has also unveiled the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER BTF White Edition as well. While we won't go into the specifications of the SKU, the GPU comes with a gorgeous white color scheme with a bulky triple-fan design along with the GC-HPWR interface for power delivery from supported motherboards. For those pairing up the BTF series, the above-mentioned products are a perfect fit if you consider an all-white build.

The firm hasn't mentioned pricing for any of the new BTF entrants. Still, one should expect them to be higher than the normal variants since they come with relatively new features in the industry, so paying a premium price is justified.
