ASUS has officially launched its brand new AMD Ryzen AI 300 laptops which include VivoBook Pro 16, ZenBook 16, ProArt 13 & ProArt 16.

As expected, ASUS has introduced its first fleet of AMD Ryzen AI 300 "Strix Point" APU-powered laptops which include the ZenBook, VivoBook & ProArt series. These laptops feature new designs and powerful specifications that will not only elevate your office and gaming experiences but also give you all the goodies that you can expect out of an "AI PC" platform.

  • Starting first with the ASUS ZenBook 16 is a 16" design that features a 2.8K 120Hz HDR 500 OLED panel and features a 1.1cm thin body while weighing 1.49kg. The laptop has been designed with a new body material known as Ceraluminum which combines an aluminum shell with a ceramic compound to offer some premium looks.

    ASUS ZenBook 16 Air (Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 + Radeon 890M + 32 GB LP5X + 1 TB / 12999 RMB):

    In terms of specifications, the ASUS ZenBook 16 features the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU with 12 cores, 24 threads, a boost clock of up to 5.1 GHz, 32 GB of LPDDR5X-7500 memory (not upgradable), 1 TB of PCIe 4.0 storage, a Radeon 890M iGPU with 16 RDNA 3.5 compute units clocked at 2.9 GHz and an XDNA 2 NPU delivering up to 50 TOPS. To cool it off, ASUS has incorporated a dual exhaust-fan design and a heatsink solution that incorporates copper fins, heat pipes, and a vapor chamber that is featured on the APU itself.

    Other features include a large 7.1" touchpad with a 240Hz refresh rate, a fingerprint sensor, an IR camera for Windows Hello, and Dolby Atmos (Harman/Kardon) certified surround sound audio. In terms of IO, you get an HDMI 2.1 slot, two USB4 (40 Gbps) ports, a single USB-A (10 Gbps) port, an SD card reader, and an audio jack. WIFI 7 capabilities are supported by the laptop. It comes with a 78WHr (4-cell Li-ion) battery. The ASUS ZenBook 16 laptop has a price of 12,999 RMB or around $1800 US for the base config.

    Next up, we have the ASUS VivoBook Pro 16 which is a 16" laptop with a 3.2K (3200x2000) 120Hz Lumina OLED (TrueBlack 600 HDR) panel. This laptop is 13.9mm thick and weighs 1.5kg. It also comes with a 180-degree hinge support. The laptop comes configured with the AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 APU which features 10 cores, 20 threads, and a boost clock of up to 5.0 GHz. The APU offers a Radeon 880M iGPU which is 15% faster than the Radeon 780M and also matches some entry-level discrete GPUs on the market while consuming lower power. The total system TOPs are rated at 73 while the NPU produces 50 TOPs.

    ASUS VivoBook Pro 16 (Ryzen AI 9 365 + Radeon 880M + 32 GB LP5X + 1 TB / 7999 RMB):

    As for I/O, the ViveBook Pro 16 (AMD Ryzen AI 300 Edition) features two USB-A (2.5 Gbps) ports, a USB-C (5 Gbps) port, a USB4 (40 Gbps) port, MicroSD card reader, HDMI 2.1 (4K60), an audio jack & support for WIFI7. The battery is a 75WHr design with 50% charging capabilities in 30 minutes from the USB-C 5-20V port. The laptop comes in the non-dGPU design with a price of 7999 RMB or close to $1100 US.

    For its ProArt, the lineup includes two 16" models and one 13" model. The ProArt 16 variants are powered by the same AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU and feature a 16" 4K OLED (HDR 300) panel in the 14.9mm thick chassis which weighs 1.8kg. The laptops are decked out with discrete GPUs, up to NVIDIA's RTX 4070, and feature 64 GB of LPDDR5X-7500 memory, 2 TB PCIe Gen 4.0 SSD, and a new cooling solution that features several copper heat pipes & triple fans while also using liquid metal TIM interface.

    ASUS ProArt 16 (Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 + RTX 4070 + 64 GB LP5X + 2 TB / 17999 RMB):

    ASUS ProArt 16 (Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 + RTX 4060 + 32 GB LP5X + 1 TB / 15999 RMB):

    The ProArt 16 series comes with a USB4 (100W PD) port, HDMI 2.1, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C (100W PD), USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, SD Express 7.0 (UHS-II), 3.5mm audio jack and an added port that will let you monitor temperatures and power in real-time with a diagnostic device. The laptop is WIFI 7 certified and comes with a larger 90WHr battery. The RTX 4060 variant of the ProArt 16 costs 15,999 RMB or $2200 US while the RTX 4070 variant costs 17,999 RMB which is close to $2500 US.

    Lastly, we have the ASUS ProArt 13 which is a convertible design in a 13" package that is 15.8mm thick and weighs 1.38kg. The laptop adopts a 13.3" 2.8K HDR (TrueBlack 500) OLED panel and is powered by the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU along with an NVIDIA RTX 4060 GPU.

    ASUS ProArt 13 (Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 + RTX 4060 + 32 GB LP5X + 1 TB / 14999 RMB):

    This laptop employs the new heatsink with several heat pipes, dual-fan coolers, and a cooling capacity of up to 115W. Other specs include 32 GB of LPDDR5X-7500 memory and up to 1 TB of PCIe SSD storage. I/O includes two USB4 Type-C, HDMI 2.1, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, a MicroSD card reader, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a monitoring port. The laptop is also WIFI7 certified and features a 78WHr battery. It is priced at 14,999 RMB or close to $2100 US.

    With the launch now all locked in for the 28th of July, we will soon be able to learn the prices of various configurations for other regions as well. Expect pre-orders to go live in a few days in the North American markets.
