ASUS has new BTF PC components in its fleet of hidden power connector designs including the ROG Maximus Z790 HERO & the RTX 4090 ROG STRIX.

At CES 2024, ASUS is expanding its BTF design which features hidden connectors to make cable management easier and make PC builds clutter-free. With the new designs, we are getting the brand new ROG series products which is first for the BTF lineup which had mostly been limited within the TUF Gaming segment.

First up, we have the ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 HERO BTF which is the same as the non-BTF design but comes with all the connectors pushed to the back of the PCB.

This motherboard also comes with ASUS's proprietary PCIe High-Power connector which supports BTF GPUs and offers up to 600W power capabilities. Power to this connector is provided through a 12VHPWR plug on the backside of the motherboard. Other interesting features include an updated Q-LED which adds over the standard DEBUG LED with quick and clear troubleshooting while also letting users know whether the DDR5 DIMM is inserted properly or not.

Next up, we have the first and the most high-end BTF GPU, the ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 4090. The graphics card retains the same quad-slot and triple-fan cooling solution with the same specs as the standard variant but gets the new high-power PCIe connector. Complementing this design is ASUS Q-Release tech which lets users easily unplug the GPU out of the PCIe slot without having to reach the PCIe release latch.

To support this new ecosystem of BTF products, ASUS is also offering its first ROG BTF case, the ROG Hyperion GR701 BTF Edition which has the necessary cut-outs to support these new designs. The casing itself is very futuristic looking and has that gaming aesthetic with lots of LEDs that can be adjusted manually and a huge side panel that gives you a clear view of the beautiful insides of your PC.

ASUS is yet to share pricing and availability of these products but one thing is for sure the BTF ROG lineup is setting the standard for things to come and we can't wait to see these products in action.
