ASUS Intros Next-Gen X870E & X870 Motherboards: ROG Crosshair X870E HERO, Mini-ITX ROG STRIX, TUF & Prime Models

ASUS has just introduced its next-gen X870E & X870 motherboards for AMD Ryzen 9000 CPUs in ROG, ROG STRIX, TUF, PRIME & ProArt models.
ASUS has introduced a total of 9 new motherboards within its AMD 800-series lineup based on the X870E & X870 chipsets. These motherboards are designed for enthusiast and mainstream builders who are going to leverage AMD's latest AM5 CPUs such as the Ryzen 9000 Desktop chips which are now available across all major retailers. These motherboards will be launching in late September so while we wait to see them on retail, let's take a look at what ASUS's lineup has to offer.
But before that, let's see what ASUS is offering in its X870E & X870 selection:
ASUS's X870E motherboards will also feature new exclusive tweaking features for AMD Ryzen CPUs such as the newly released Ryzen 9000 chips. These features will include the Dynamic OC Switcher which engages AMD PBO or user-preferred settings based on the current CPU current/temperature in a dynamic fashion. These can lead to higher multi-threaded performance with manual OC when Temperature headroom is available or higher single-threaded performance when PBO is enabled & current headroom is available. The other feature is Core Flex which enables users to control clock speeds, power and thermals to finely tune CPU performance.
The ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E HERO is the new flagship within the company's AMD 800-series line of motherboards. This motherboard is a very strong offering, featuring support for the NitroPath DDR5 DRAM technology along with a powerful 18+2+2 phase delivery for the CPU. The board rocks a very modern and clean look with the whole black color theme and the large ROG accent plate on the M.2 SSD slots. The IO plate has a glowing ROG logo along with the Crosshair label which also looks great.
Next up is the ROG STRIX X870E-E Gaming WIFI which is a high-end gaming offering that features the same 18+2+2 power delivery with gaming aesthetics. The motherboard features support for up to DDR5-8400 memory and also comes with support for the new ASUS NitroPath memory routing technology. The motherboard packs 5 M.2 slots and supports WIFI7 capabilities alongside a range of IO capabilities.
The ASUS ROG Strix X870-F Gaming WIFI tones down the power delivery slightly to 16+2+2 but makes for a more affordable high-end offering that retains the gaming esthetics. The board also supports four M.2 slots and up to DDR5-8000 memory support with up to 192 GB capacities.
The ASUS ROG STRIX X870-A Gaming WIFI is the white variant in the ROG STRIX gaming lineup. The motherboard also features a 16+2+2 power delivery with four M.2 slots, a full PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, four DDR5 DIMM slots with up to 8000 MT/s speeds, and 192 GB capacity support.
The last motherboard in the ASUS ROG STRIX lineup is the ROG STRIX X870-I Gaming WIFI which is a Mini-ITX offering that features two DIMMs with up to 96 GB capacity and up to 8600 MT/s speed support. This motherboard is outfitted with an active-fan cooling solution for the VRMs and comes with two M.2 slots. There's also a full-length PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and you also get two USB 10 Gbps ports.
Moving into the TUF segment, ASUS is offering its brand new TUF Gaming X870-PLUS WIFI board which comes with a high-end power delivery and support for up to 8000 MT/s DDR5 speeds. The motherboard features four M.2 slots, WIFI7, 2.5 GbE Ethernet LAB, two USB4 ports, 3 USB 10 Gbps ports, and a lot more.
For content creators or those who desire minimalistic looks, ASUS has the ProArt X870E Creator WIFI which features all the great features such as 10 GbE LAN, 2.5 GbE LAN, four M.2 slots, full-length PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, two USB4 ports, 1 USB 20 and 7 USB 10 Gbps ports, and lots of fan/RGB headers.
Last but not least is the ASUS PRIME series which comes in X870-P WIFI and PRIME X870-P flavors. These motherboards will aim the more mainstream userbase while supporting high-end features such as DDR5-8000 MT/s / 192 GB support, WIFI7, quad M.2 slots and a lot more.
ASUS isn't sharing the prices for its AMD X870E & X870 motherboard lineup at the moment but we can expect more information to be available close to launch which is planned for 30th September.
