ASUS Equips Its OG “RTX 3090 Ti” TUF Cooler On The Brand New RTX 4090 TUF Graphics Card

ASUS has unveiled its new GeForce RTX 4090 TUF OG graphics card which makes use of the RTX 3090 Ti TUF cooling solutions.

Last week, ASUS announced that they were prepping a new graphics card under the "TUF OG" branding. The company only showed a teaser but didn't reveal much more. Based on the new information, it looks like the TUF OG graphics cards simply reuse older graphics card coolers & that's about it.

The ASUS GeForce RTX 4090 TUF OG graphics card comes in two flavors, an OC & a Non-OC variant. Both cards share the same design with the former featuring a factory overclock which pushes the speeds by 30 MHz (2565 base and 2595 MHz boost clock).

The TUF OG graphics cards are thinner and shorter in physical design than the current GeForce RTX 4090 TUF Gaming designs, offering a 3.2-slot instead of a 3.65-slot and measuring 32.6 cm instead of 34.8 cm. Although the cooling solution is similar to the RTX 3090 Ti but the PCB is not the same even though RTX 4090 & RTX 3090 Ti GPUs are pin-compatible.

The fan design is an axial-tech fan that has been fine-tuned for little turbulence with its reversed middle fan. The new ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 24GB GDDR6X OG GPUs offers military-grade capacitors for higher durability and dual ball fan bearings to last twice as long as previous models. The memory speed is 21 Gbps with a memory interface of 384 bits. The recommended PSU for the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 24GB GDDR6X OG graphics card series is 850W and offers aRGB lighting support with AURA SYNC.

Currently, there's no word on the pricing or availability of the ASUS GeForce RTX 4090 TUF OG cards but we can expect them to be priced slightly lower than the standard TUF Gaming cards. These cards also make sense for people who were looking for NVIDIA 4090 graphics cards in more reasonable sizes.
