AMD’s Radeon RX 7700 XT GPU Momentarily Drops Down To $353, Almost $100 US Less Than MSRP

AMD's Radeon RX 7700 XT GPU was momentarily discounted down to $353 US making it a very competitive product against NVIDIA's RTX 4060 Ti.

In the past week, we have seen relatively lower-end cards such as the AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT, and the higher ones such as the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT, all getting a fairly decent discount. However, it was the "mid-tier" segment that was "apparently" neglected up till now, since AMD momentarily dropped its Radeon RX 7700 XT down to US $353, which marks a whopping $100 discount from the original MSRP. The new discounts were applicable on the PowerColor Fighter and the Hellhound variants, although the latter one is priced slightly higher at $357.

For a quick rundown, the AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT features a slightly cut-down Navi 32 XL GPU with 54 RDNA 3 Compute Units that pack 3456 cores. The core is clocked at up to 2544 MHz, offering up to 35 TFLOPs of FP32 compute performance. The GPU is also packed with 54 RT accelerator cores, 108 AI cores, and 96 ROPs.

The AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT GPU has a TBP that's very close to the 7800 XT at 245W which is also higher than its predecessor. Memory specifications of the graphics card include a very welcomed 12 GB VRAM that operates at up to 18 Gbps pin speeds across a 192-bit wide bus interface

The new discount "waves" are probably AMD's attempt to recapture NVIDIA's recently-established consumer GPU market share, with the debut of the GeForce RTX 40 SUPER series, which has been performing quite well in the markets. We recently saw the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti GPU drop down to $344 US. While it isn't a guarantee whether the new pricing would lead to sales traction at all, it indeed shows that AMD is determined to consolidate its position amongst consumers. We could expect extensive price cuts in the future as well, depending on how the markets respond.
