AMD has unveiled its very own AI suite called Amuse 2.0 which features XDNA Super Resolution tech & gives you loads of AI-centric features to try.

Intel recently introduced its AI Playground utility which is a one-stop solution for Arc dGPU & iGPU users to leverage the AI capabilities of their hardware for features such as Image generation, image enhancement, chatbot, and more. This allows PC users to take advantage of AI easily without the need to download various utilities that serve the same task. Now, AMD is launching its own set of AI-enhanced features in a utility called Amuse.

Amuse 2.0 is now available in BETA and the creators behind the utility, TensorStack, has partnered with AMD to bring an easy-to-use end-user experience to its user base running Ryzen and Radeon hardware. There are several features offered by Amuse 2.0 which come in an easy-to-install utility and additionally comes with an "EZ Mode" which makes sure that you don't have to go through all the leg-work to get things started. The features offered by Amuse 2.0 include:

  • No command line needed
  • Simple and easy to use
  • AMD XDNA Super Resolution
  • Single executable
  • No dependencies
  • Auto-configuration and model selection
  • Paint to Image
  • Drawing to Image
  • Create your AI filters
  • Multi-stage, ONNX-based pipeline (Stable Diffusion, Control Nets, Feature Extractors)
  • You can download Amuse 2.0.0 Beta here!

The most interesting feature offered by Amuse 2.0 is support for AMD's XDNA Super Resolution technology. With XDNA Super Resolution, you can not only speed up your AI creations but also output 2x the size and the end of the image generation stage. To get XDNA Super Resolution to work, you would need the right hardware which AMD lists as its latest Ryzen AI 300 series, Ryzen 8040 series, and Radeon RX 7000 GPUs. Following are the official recommended requirements for Amuse 2.0 by AMD:

  • AMD Ryzen AI 300 series processors with 24GB of RAM or higher
  • AMD Ryzen 8040 series processors (AMD XDNA Super Resolution requires the latest OEM MCDM and NPU driver update) with 32GB of RAM
  • Radeon RX 7000 Series Graphics Cards
  • Once downloaded, and if you have the right hardware installed with the right XDNA NPU or GPU capabilities, the XDNA Super Resolution technology will be toggled automatically. Overall, it's great to see that AMD is also offering its users to play around with some nice and handy AI features and having NPU accessibility means that all your content creation is being done locally instead of in the cloud. The Amuse 2.0 software is currently in BETA but we can expect future updates and feature additions as it gets closer to its official release.
