AMD Surpasses Intel In Brand Recognition, NVIDIA Bags 6th Spot With The Single Largest Brand Value Growth

AMD has surpassed Intel when it comes to the brand's recognition while NVIDIA saw the biggest growth, as revealed in a report by Kantar's BrandZ "Most Valuable Global Brands" for 2024.
Well, it won't be wrong to say that amid the AI hype, AMD emerged as the clear winner compared to the likes of Intel, especially in the professional sectors. The company's Instinct lineup of AI accelerators was massively popular among clients compared to Intel's Gaudi series, simply because Team Red did a better job in capitalizing on the market hype and gaining the trust of its clients. Apart from that, AMD's new AI-focused consumer offers, such as the Strix Point APUs, saw huge market adoption, and based on such factors, Kantar has put AMD above Intel when it comes to the overall brand value.
The BrandZ Most Valuable Global Brands report by Kantar ranks the top brands in the world based on a combination of factors, including customer sentiment and financial data. This is also a reflection of consumer sentiment towards the brand as well, which shows how popular the firm is in the eyes of an average customer. The report's Business Technology and Services Platforms category disclosed that Team Red made a decent mark, rising the ranks and reaching a brand value of $51.86 million, which is a recognition of the company's value, not to confuse it with market cap.
AMD's brand value increased by 53%, while Intel's increased by 23% since 2023, which shows that AMD made huge strides in the markets. AMD currently stands at 41st position while Intel stands at 48th position.
AMD was included in the list of "Top 10 Risers" this year, which included NVIDIA, which grew by a whopping 178%, along with Instagram and Facebook, which, too, showed double-digit gains. The top five brands by market value involved Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and McDonald’s, with NVIDIA coming in 6th place. NVIDIA itself saw a massive 178% brand value growth which shows the dominant position of the company in the tech world and is on its way to climbing the top 5 charts this year.
While the report isn't certainly a reflection of the on-ground situation, it does show that the battle between AMD and Intel is tight, and for now, AMD looks to gain a slight superiority. Not only has the firm made significant progress in the AI domain, but it overall looks in a much better position to capitalize on the markets. These figures will certainly change once Intel's next-gen platform, such as the Lunar Lake, debuts, but for now, it's safe to say that AMD has won the brand value race against Intel.
