AMD Ryzen AI 300 Laptops Possibly Launching On 15th July, Next-Gen Zen 5 CPU & RDNA 3.5 GPU Cores

AMD's next-gen Ryzen AI 300 Laptops are reportedly going to launch on the 15th of July as per the latest listing over at BestBuy.
Given the AI PC craze at the moment, all CPU vendors have accelerated their next-gen chips to launch within the Q3 2024 time frame. AMD was the first to the AI PC segment with its Phoenix "Ryzen 7040" lineup last year followed by an AI-boosted Hawk Point "Ryzen 8040" launch in early 2024 but now, with the introduction of the Microsoft Copilot+ "AI PC" platform, AMD is gearing up for the launch of its next-gen Ryzen AI 300 family which will compete with Qualcomm's Snapdragon X and Intel's Lunar Lake chips.
Qualcomm will officially launch its first Snapdragon X laptops today and is the first to be fully compliant with Microsoft's Copilot+ "AI PC" platform. Meanwhile, the software giant has confirmed that AMD's Strix Point and Intel's Lunar Lake platforms will be getting the Copilot+ feature update later through an update.
With that said, AMD's Ryzen AI 300 CPUs have a lot to offer with their brand new Zen 5 CPU, RDNA 3.5 GPU, and XDNA 2 NPU cores. As per the latest listings by BestBuy, it looks like we can expect the lineup to launch on the 15th of July with certain models coming down the road. The launch will be two months ahead of another high-performance launch, but for desktops, in the form of the Ryzen 9000 "Granite Ridge" family which will reportedly hit retail shelves on the 31st of July as we covered yesterday.
As for what to expect in terms of laptop offerings, it looks like ASUS will have the majority of its AMD Ryzen AI 300-powered laptops on shelves by launch day. The ASUS lineup ranges from $1399.99 US Zenbook S with the Ryzen AI 9 365, 24 GB LPDDR5x memory, and 1 TB SSD to the high-end ROG Zephyrus OLED with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, 32 GB of memory, 2 TB SSD, and NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4070 GPU for $2299.99 US. There will be even more higher-end configurations but these few laptops that are listed will be introduced within July. Following are all of the ASUS's "AMD Ryzen AI 300" laptops listed:
The two chips powering these laptops include the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and the Ryzen AI 9 365 which feature 12-core and 10-core configurations, respectively. You can find more details on these chips here and based on the latest leaked benchmarks, we are looking at some significant gains over the last generation when it comes to both CPU and GPU performance. Once again, the laptops are expected to launch in July in 100+ platforms from OEMs such as ASUS, MSI, ACER, HP & Lenovo so stay tuned for some Ryzen action in the coming month.
