AMD Readies AGESA 1.0.0.7 BIOS Firmware To Fix 24 GB & 48 GB DDR5 Memory Compatibility Issues On AM5 Platform

AMD is readying a brand new AGESA BIOS firmware to address the 24 GB and 48 GB memory compatibility issues on the AM5 platform.
Memory manufacturers introduced their brand new 24 GB and 48 GB memory modules earlier this month which allow for up to 192 GB capacities. Motherboard manufacturers were swift in releasing the necessary BIOS to support these memory modules on both 600 and 700 series platforms but it looks like AMD partners haven't released any official or BETA support for such memory modules or kits.

As such, there were reports that AMD's AM5 platform was having issues with 24 GB and 48 GB DDR5 memory modules. Although the BIOS could detect the memory, the PC never booted into operating systems which meant that users had to roll back to a standard 16 GB or 32 GB DIMM solution. But it looks like AMD and its partners are aware of these issues and will soon be rolling out a brand new AGESA BIOS firmware to address the problems faced by users who want to use higher-capacity memory modules and kits.
Hardware leaker, chi11eddog, reports that AMD is working on a brand new AGESA BIOS firmware labeled 1.0.0.7 which will add initial support for the 24 GB and 48 GB memory modules. It is shown that Corsair 48 GB memory modules run fine on the Intel 700/600 series platform and the same would be the case for AMD AM5 platforms once the new BIOS ships out. It will be really nice to get up to 192 GB options on the AMD AM5 platform too for users who do content creation & rendering workloads.
While there's no word on the actual launch timeframe for the new BIOS, our sources have mentioned that it will be available by various motherboard vendors in April or next month so stay tuned for more information.
