AMD Confirms New Enthusiast-Class Radeon RX 7000 “RDNA 3” GPUs Coming This Quarter
AMD has confirmed that the company will introduce new enthusiast-class Radeon RX 7000 "RDNA 3" GPUs this quarter for the PC gaming segment.
During the earnings call, AMD said that it will focus on further expanding its Radeon RX 7000 GPU lineup based on the RDNA 3 graphics architecture. The lineup currently includes the top-end AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX & RX 7900 XT solutions based on the Navi 31 GPU while the recent Radeon RX 7600 aims at the 1080p gaming segment. The company also unveiled a brand new Radeon RX 7900 GRE variant which is primarily sold as a DIY product in mainland China and with limited availability across the globe through System Integrators.
But it looks like AMD will once again shift its focus from entry-level and mainstream gamers to the enthusiast market. AMD's CEO, Dr. Lisa Su, stated that they are on track to further expand the line with new enthusiast-class cards in the third quarter.

The key takeaway here is the word "cards" which means that we aren't looking at just one product but several enthusiast-class offerings. AMD currently classifies its Radeon RX 7900 XTX & 7900 XT as "Ultra-Enthusiast" products. It is not mentioned if these new cards will replace the current Navi 31 offerings or be a slightly more affordable yet still enthusiast solution priced between the $500-$700 US segment which has seen little action on the Radeon side. This segment mainly includes the RTX 4070 Ti & RTX 4070 from NVIDIA which have been out in the retail for a while now.
According to rumors, AMD is expected to introduce two new graphics cards based on the RDNA 3 GPU architecture, the Radeon RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT. The AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT could feature 16 GB memory while the Radeon RX 7700 XT could feature 12 GB memory which will be the same as their predecessors, the 6800 XT & 6700 XT. The Radeon RX 7700 XT may hold a better position against the RTX 4060 series if its priced around the $400-$500 US range while the RX 7800 XT can give a good knock to the RTX 4070 series if its appropriately priced around the $550-$650 US range.
It will be exciting to see the new solutions from AMD and how they tackle NVIDIA's RTX 40 lineup. A Gamescom announcement is very much plausible by the end of this month so let's see what the red team is cooking up for PC gamers!
